JUUL just announced the removal of all sales of their Mint flavored pods. This announcement comes after the company halted the sale of their other flavored pods weeks ago amid growing concern over youth vaping rates. Mint has recently been reported as 70% of all JUUL pod sales.
The FDA is expected to release upcoming regulatory path updates for all flavors currently on the vape market. Currently, all products must undergo a PMTA application process in 2020 which would require FDA approval to be left on the market for sale. JUULs move to ban sales of all flavored pods is a PR move to combat recent headline studies which showcase the high rate or usage for JUUL products among 8th grade and high school students.
